Oğuz Turunç (MSc, AusIMM, MAIG, UMREK)

Managing Director

Mr Oğuz Turunç has over 17-year experience in Mineral Resource and Reserves Estimation, Mineral Resource reporting, statistical and geostatistical analyses, due diligence studies, exploration and mine geology. Oğuz started his career as Exploration and Mine Geologist at Demir Export A.Ş. Oğuz worked as Resource Geologist, and was involved in many projects, including base and precious metals and iron ore deposits. He operated several projects such as Demir Export's Iron Mines (OP), Bakırtepe Gold Mine (OP), İspir Ulutaş Porphry (Cu-Mo), Skarn (Cu-Zn) Exploration Project between 2012 and 2017. He was responsible for all projects related to the company's resource modelling, estimation, reconciliation and grade control. In addition, he worked with experienced independent consultants to prepare JORC-compliant reports. He continued his career as Senior Resource Geologist at AMAK Mining Company in Saudi Arabia in 2017. He has been involved in Al Masane Copper and Zinc Mine (UG) studies in developing resource modelling, mine planning and grade control system projects with the experience and knowledge obtained in the mining industry. He also participated in the feasibility study of the Guyan Gold Project and other iron ore deposits in Saudi Arabia. In 2018, Oğuz started to work for Datamine International as a Senior Consultant to carry out software training, resource estimation studies and grade control implementations. He focused on epithermal and orogenic gold, VMS-type copper, mainly skarn, and different types of iron ore deposits. He also established the Datamine Türkiye Office and created and managed the team responsible for conducting consulting and sales business in the Middle East Region. In 2020, Oğuz began his latest position at RPMGlobal as Principal Resource Geologist before establishing his own company (CAKA Mining). Oğuz has been working and holding close relationships with many mining companies across Asia, Europe, Africa and Saudi Arabia. This work has ranged from Resource Estimation studies, Pre-Feasibility projects, Lender's Engineer, and Due Diligences, and Oğuz has gained a detailed understanding of the requirements of public technical reports requirements. He was also responsible for managing all teams at RPM and ARDEF to execute projects and drive business development initiatives worldwide.

İsmail Yücer (BSc)

Geology Consultant

By gaining extensive experience in Turkey’s mining sector over a period of six years, İsmail not only improved his skills but also proved himself as a well-rounded geologist. Throughout his consulting career, he has focused on supporting the advancement of exploration projects and resource evaluations in the mining industry, undertaking a wide range of responsibilities from early-stage exploration to resource estimation and international reporting. İsmail has acquired solid knowledge and hands-on experience in exploration drilling, coreshed management, geological mapping, and the preparation of mineral resource and exploration target reports in accordance with internationally recognized standards (JORC, NI 43-101, UMREK). He has been actively involved in exploration projects across Turkey and abroad, including Kastamonu Daday Cu-Au, Çorum İskilip Cu-Au, Sivas Kurtlapa Cu-Mn, Erzurum Tekman Cu-Au, Giresun Şebinkarahisar Au, and Handeni Au Project in Tanzania, all of which were conducted and reported under or in accordence with internationally recognized standards. In addition, he has contributed extensively to database construction and management, geological domaining, block modelling, and resource estimation studies for a wide range of commodities including copper, gold, lead-zinc, iron, manganese, and polymetallic deposits. On the resource evaluation side, he has taken on critical responsibilities in projects such as Türkiye Varlık Fonu Taşköprü Cu-Zn, Dedeman Delikkaya Pb-Zn, Pasifik Sivas Maden Köy Pb-Zn (UMREK), DSM Teknik Malatya Pütürge Cu, DSM Teknik Erzurum Kaban Cu, EnerjiSA Tufanbeyli Thermal Power Plant (Lignite), Lidya Altyn Kazgan Au, ERMADEN Bingöl Genç Fe (UMREK & JORC), Hestaş Bingöl Genç Fe (UMREK), CVK Madencilik Sarıalan Au and Yenipazar Polymetallic, as well as multiple international projects carried out for MTAIC in Niger (Au), Uzbekistan Hurob (Au), and Kazakhstan Saritau (W). In addition to his geological expertise, İsmail is proficient in professional mining and geological software such as Datamine Studio RM™, Leapfrog Geo™, Snowden Supervisor™, and QGIS, which he leverages to enhance project efficiency and accuracy. He also possesses a strong foundation in software development and database management (SQL and NoSQL systems), further strengthening his capability to manage complex exploration and resource evaluation projects.

Yiğit Türkmen (BSc)

Mining Consultant

Yiğit graduated with second place and honors from the Mining Engineering Department of Hacettepe University and has over 3 years of professional experience in the mining industry. He began his career as a candidate engineer at leading mining companies in Turkey, gaining experience in both underground and open-pit operations. At Demir Export, he worked in underground coal mining and Turkey’s first three-product dense medium cyclone plant. At Netcad Software, he contributed to the development of mining software projects such as swath plot and implicit modeling tools. He later joined Anagold Madencilik, where he supported mine planning and operations, working with dispatch and provision systems and developing an alternative to the traditional Layercake method. Yiğit also co-founded Madenhabercisi.com, a platform aimed at contributing to the Turkish mining sector, and collaborated with Mining-Turkey.com, gaining broad exposure to mining projects and industry trends. He then worked at Centerra Gold’s Öksüt Mine as a Rock Mechanics Engineer, where he was responsible for geotechnical drilling, stability monitoring, radar monitoring, and piezometer installations, while coordinating closely with operations, planning, and processing teams. Currently, Yiğit is a Mining Consultant at CAKA Mining, where he has successfully delivered more than 20 open-pit and underground projects across multiple countries, including Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Niger. During this period, he has also collaborated with experienced mining engineers from Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, further enhancing his international perspective. His expertise covers mine planning, optimization, mine design, scheduling, financial modeling, and trade-off studies on electrification of mining fleets. He has worked on commodities such as gold, copper, coal, and iron, and has participated in projects at Conceptual, Scoping (CS), and Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) levels. He has also contributed to Mineral Resource and Reserve Estimations (RPEEE) in compliance with international reporting codes such as JORC (2012) and UMREK. Yiğit is proficient in a wide range of mining and geospatial software, including Datamine (NPV, OP, UG), Surpac, Netpromine, AutoCAD, QGIS, Python applying them to mine optimization, resource (RPEEE), scheduling, and mine design.

Yeliz Yavuzer (BSC)

Geology Consultant

Yeliz graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Geological Engineering, with first-class honors and a distinction award. She completed her internship at TÜPRAG’s Efemçukuru Gold Mine, where she gained field experience in exploration and underground mining operations by actively participating in underground activities. While continuing her final year of studies, she also worked as a junior engineer at Nakkaş Mining. During this period, she improved her skills in organizing drill hole databases, transferring drilling data into 3D environments using mining software, applying mineral resource modeling techniques, and supporting exploration activities. In addition to her academic and professional achievements, Yeliz has strengthened her technical background by utilizing advanced geology and mining software to solve real-world problems. She is proficient in MS Office, Datamine, Leapfrog, and ArcGIS, effectively applying these programs in geological modeling, resource estimation, and data analysis. Yeliz is currently working as a consulting geologist at CAKA, focusing on resource modeling and contributing to projects involving geological data interpretation, exploration strategies, and mineral resource estimations prepared in compliance with international reporting standards.

Ahmet İbuk

Mining Consultant (Coal Projects)

Ahmet İBUK is a highly experienced Mining Engineer specializing in coal mining, with over 40 years of professional background in underground and open-pit operations, mine development, and executive leadership. He holds a Mining Engineering degree from Hacettepe University and has held key technical and managerial roles in both public and private sectors, including TKİ (Turkish Coal Enterprises), Ciner Group, and Limak Holding. Throughout his career, Mr. İBUK has led numerous high-capacity coal mining projects, managing mechanized underground systems and large-scale open-pit operations with production rates reaching up to 9 million tonnes per year. He played a pivotal role in the project planning, development, and commissioning of Turkey’s first and the world’s second fluidized bed thermal power plant fueled by asphaltite, overseeing both the mine and the power plant integration. As Mine Sites Director at Limak Holding, he directed all coal mine operations supplying a total of 1,050 MW of installed thermal power generation capacity. He coordinated with international consultants (GHD, Australia) to deliver JORC-compliant resource/reserve models, slope stability analyses, and long-term mining plans, which were essential in securing multi-billion-dollar international project financing. Currently, he continues to serve as a Senior Mining Consultant, focusing on coal mine design, mechanized production systems, feasibility studies, and mine optimization. He has recently contributed to the planning of a fully-mechanized underground lignite mine with a 4.5 Mtpa capacity for IC-Limak’s Yeniköy-Kemerköy project. Mr. İBUK is a certified Competent Person (QP) under UMREK, Vice Chairman of the Mining Engineers Development Association (MMMGD), and a long-standing member of TMMOB and YERMAM. His core areas of expertise include coal resource development, mechanized underground mining, cost modeling, mine planning, and operational strategy, with a strong focus on sustainability, safety, and economic viability in the coal sector.

Mert Gül (MBA)

Administrative Manager

Mert GÜL has built a versatile career foundation by combining technical and managerial perspectives over the course of 13 years. He graduated from Kırıkkale University Department of Electricity in 2010 and Anadolu University Department of Public Administration in 2013. In 2021, he completed his MBA in Business Administration and Management at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Mert began his professional career in 2012 as an Archive Specialist at Kod-A Bilişim, where he worked on the archive and information systems processes for projects involving TEDAŞ and Türksat. In 2015, he joined Enerjisa Energy as a Supervisor, where he spent 8 years within the Customer Technical Services Department. During this time, he took on responsibilities across various operations, including team management, process improvement, performance monitoring, strategic planning, and implementation of quality standards. Throughout his tenure, he worked with the SAP ERP infrastructure and QDMS Integrated Management System, contributing to projects aimed at increasing operational efficiency. He developed best practices within the company for integrating quality, environmental, and occupational health & safety systems into business processes. In 2021, he earned internal auditor certifications for ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System from TÜV NORD, and was appointed as an internal auditor within the organization. In 2023, Mert assumed the role of Administrative Affairs Manager at CAKA Mining, where he is currently responsible for coordinating administrative processes, ensuring legal and corporate compliance, and contributing to the sustainability of organizational operations.
